Myofascial Release Therapy

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a Gentle, Hands-On
Approach to Decreasing Pain and Tension in the Body.

Gentle, sustained pressure releases myofascial restrictions.

Myofascial release (MFR) releases restrictions in the body’s fascial system to treat root causes of pain.

Our bodies are made up of a continuous web of connective tissue from head to toe also known as the fascial system. Many times the restrictions held in the fascial system are the cause of limited mobility and increased pain and dysfunction.  Fascial restrictions place crushing pressure on nerves, blood vessels and other pain sensitive structures in the body.

MFR releases the restrictions on these structures and allows for the body to achieve optimum health.  It also creates a healthy environment for cells and the body systems to function.

Pain-Relief with Myofascial Release

Traumatic events, injuries, surgery and general wear and tear on the body over time can produce incredible tension in the body’s fascial system and lead to pain and decreased mobility. Fascial restrictions do now show up in traditional medical tests such as x-rays, MRI, CAT scans, myelograms or electromyography.

Myofascial release therapy can help all types of issues, including migraines, back pain, Plantar Fascitis, Sciatica, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, menstrual discomfort or the chronic problems associated with Fibromyalgia.

How Fascia Works

The fascia system of the human body is a truly unique system of tissue that covers and penetrates every part of the human body. From bones and muscles to nerves and veins, even your organs and brain, fascia is everywhere.

The fascial system is one continuous web of tissue that extends from the top of your head to the tip of your toes. When one part becomes inflamed or restricted, it affects the rest. Problems in one area can lead to issues in others as well.

Think of a sweater, woven from a single strand of yarn. Your fascia is all interconnected, working as one system to connect, protect and support every part of the body.
